Announcing a poetry competition for budding or experienced poets!

“Poetry is the history of the human heart.” - Billy Collins

We are living through history right now, together. All over the world, people are having a collective experience. Though much of the world is experiencing self-isolation, we are all bonded through this pandemic.

The Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation wants to build collective and healing energy through poetry. Please submit your own original poem that speaks to the collective human experience of Covid-19. A jury, led by our own local poet laureate Sean Sexton, will judge all submissions.

The rules:
Who can enter? Anyone 18 or over. Must maintain a residence in Indian River County.

How many poems can I enter? You can enter one poem up to 40 lines long.

What can I win? The joy of adding poetry, a balm to the heart, but also money.
